Apologies for being so quiet lately, but I’ve been fighting a losing battle with grass. I mow it and move on to the next spot, but as soon as I turn my back, the spot I’ve just done grows a foot over night. By the time I’ve done as much as I can outside, I’m too pooped to do more than the necessities inside. When I stop, I look at videos of beautiful in-game houses. This one has become my all time favourite.
I feel rested and restored just looking at it. Hope it gives you the same sense of ‘time out’.
cheers,
Meeks

Well, I’m all packed up and ready to move in!π The tree house is truly magical and so inviting – thank you for sharing the video. As for mowing the lawn – here in the UK it is so wet and more mud than grass; then in the summer burnt to a scraggy yellow. Spring is beautiful and lush but a few months to go!

lol – that was my reaction too! So cosy. I always thought that the UK was permanently green. Times they are a-changin’. π¦

I hear ya! Off to whippersnip all my edges again, then tackle the thigh high weeds which were NOT there two weeks ago! π
Ah the summer in Oz: sounds of crickets & lawn mowers all weekend π
Happy New Year down there π

I LOVE this! It’s like the Fairyland I imagined for my kids’ book Gateway to Magic (sorry about the plug, but it really is how I saw it!)

-grin- that’s perfectly fine, Annabelle! I felt as if I were looking at a Renaissance painting brought to life. And just for the record, I grew up with Enid Blyton’s stories. I love the thought that modern day kids can escape into wonder the way I did.

It is a lovely house and a peaceful video. Our grass is also growing like mad with all the rain and the weeds are following itβs lead π₯΄

I’m so glad you liked it, Robbie. I think part of our weird weather is the Indian dipole? Sorry I should look it up but I’m not quite awake yet. Anyway, I imagine it would have an affect on South Africa too.
Sadly our ‘grass’ is really just weeds, but they still need mowing.
One more coffee and I’d better get out there again.

Your grass sounds like a full time job this summer. Yes, I do believe it is the same weather pattern cycle that is impacting Australia and Southern Africa.

There have been warnings about the potential for grass fires now that the weather is hotting up so I’m even more paranoid than usual. Sadly one of the last two alpacas died [old age] so it has become more of a DIY than in years past.

We are having hot weather too. I suspect we may get more heavy rain and even hail soon. Sorry about the alpaca.

The weather bureau is forecasting pretty much a solid week of heat. I sincerely hope that isn’t followed by hail!

Me too. The last hail storm killed all my woodpeckers.

We’ve had a couple of bad hail storms, one of which left dents all over the Offspring’s car. Luckily my special magpies came through ok. Nature can be brutal.

I am so glad about the magpies. Losing pets, even wild ones, is so hard.

Yeah, it is. Some years back we had a strange little fox visit the compost heap. He was small and frail looking and brindle rather than red. He’d visit every evening and…I must admit I’d often throw him a chicken drumstick if I had one handy. Once he literally caught it out of the air.
The one day I found him cowering under the deck. He looked at me with this ‘please don’t make me go’ expression so grabbed the dog and we left him there. The next day I found him down the very back of the property. He’d died huddled up against the fence. I buried him and every time I go down there I place a pretty stone on his cairn.
That little runt of a fox had smarts and personality, and I still get a lump in my throat thinking about how we became ‘friends’.
-sigh-

Hi Meeks, this a lovely story. I always thought we were soul mates and now I know for sure. I buried my little woodpecker friends too.

Wow, Andrea. I’d move into that place in about two seconds. What beautiful graphics. I can see why it’s so soothing to watch after a long day of battling grass. Did you notice that it didn’t have a lawn? Lol. Thanks for sharing. Wow. I’m going to watch it again to get ideas for the real world. π

I love even the idea of a treehouse. Much of my childhood was happily spent reading and pondering life high in a cherry tree. π

-hugs- Hi Pat! Happy New Year. π
I’ve always loved the idea of a home in a tree too. Now I’m picturing you lost in a book, just casually reaching out and plucking a cherry while you read. π
