First cup of coffee. Look out the kitchen window and….

That’s a rather large branch from a Red Box eucalypt. It came to rest right in the middle of my quince tree. 😦

All the rain we’ve had has ruined a lot of the fruit this year, and now it seems we’ll have even less than anticipated.

I’m particularly annoyed by the fact that the branch also half squashed my little fig tree…the very first year it has fruit. Grrrrr…. And to add an extra twist to my frustration, I’m now going to have to pay someone to come in and remove the branch because I don’t do chain saws.
-sigh- I really do hate this time of year.

I’m so sad for you. If anything happened to my quince tree, I would cry—I love quince and make jam every year!

The man with the chainsaw is out there, literally now, attempting to save my tree. Fingers crossed.

Bugger. Not what you need to be dealing with. Not festive at all. Although it’s worse for your poor fig tree.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I was also stung by a horse fly so now I itch! -face palm-

Hopefully that’s your bad luck for the year over and done with.
You need to enjoy a nice restful Chtistmas with your daughter.

You could drag it to a resting place nearby and let the insects do their thing with it. Not big enough for a seat, but shading/cooling the earth in summer isn’t a bad thing (and in 12 months it’s aged enough to sell for firewood).

lol – I don’t think we could even drag it off the poor quince much less anywhere else. It’s actually a lot bigger than it looks in the photos. My biggest concern though is fire. I clear my block as much as I can manage to lessen the fuel load. Definitely don’t want this thing adding to that load. 😦

I hope the quince and fig aren’t seriously damaged, and that you will be able to harvest a fig or two.

I hope so too but won’t know until Monday when the guy comes to remove the branch. -fingers crossed-
