I am the kind of person who always has to know why things are the way they are so my interests range from genetics and biology to politics and what makes people tick.
For fun I play online mmorpgs, read, listen to a music, dance when I get the chance and landscape my rather large block.
Work is writing. When a story I am working on is going well I'm on cloud nine. On bad days I go out and dig big holes...

I visited Hobbiton in New Zealand, Meeks, and saw all the hobbit houses. They are only fronts though and don’t have much inside them. A whole hobbit house sounds very romantic.
Oh! I would love to have seen Hobbiton. I guess it makes sense that they’d only be ‘fronts’. The internal scenes were probably shot in a studio somewhere. Still, wouldn’t it be fabulous if someone turned those fronts into real hobbit houses? Maybe a Hobbit Inn where you could actually spend the night. Now that’s the kind of Disneyland I’d pay to visit. 😀
I really like the Underhill one. Thanks so much for the link, Robbie. Bookmarked in case I ever get over to NZ. Ridiculous to think we’re so close yet I’ve never been.
Hmmm! this book, Wings & Fire anthology is only available on kindle direct so I can’t find a purchase option on Amazon to gift it to you. I am not very good on KDP having never used it. I will send you my story though.
I love that Hobbit Hole! Tiny houses appeal to me, but I’d have to keep my current house to use as a library and storage unit. lol! Also: I would have to own all the land in sight; otherwise, you might not have that gorgeous view forever.
-grin- Agreed! Or how about a cluster of hobbit houses? One for sleeping, one for cooking, bathing, laundry etc? Oh and one for the library. And a bottomless pit for the storage. 😀 😀
That was fascinating! A lot of work but so creative. Using marine sealer in the bathroom was a gem of information as I have a wood ceiling in my bathroom that is starting to show some water damage. A great share, Andrea.
-giggles- I’d love to build my own Hobbit house, but my days of swinging a hammer are slipping away. These days I build digital houses – much easier on the back!

If you are ever really keen, you can stay in a Hobbit Hole at two places close to Hobbiton, Woodlyn Park Hobbit Motel or the Underhill Hobbit Hole. You can read about it here: https://www.nztravelorganiser.com/stay-hobbit-hole-new-zealand

I enjoyed my time in NZ very much. I loved the buried village very much. It fascinated me and I wrote a story about it.

Yes, it is in an anthology I participated in. Let me check which one and I’ll gift you a copy on Amazon. It is a favourite short story of mine.

Ken just built me a small workshop—I’m sure he wouldn’t mind tackling a hobbit hole!

-grin- of course he wouldn’t. When he’s done could you send him to Australia as I could really use a small workshop myself. 😀

They have to be connected by tunnels, so I don’t have to go out in the weather. lol

Ha! I want it where it is, though. We’ll have to spend the cloning money on airfare or a teleporter.
