We just got the internet back after what feels like a month but was only 24 hours. Talk about addicted. 😦
The problem was our internet router. It gave up the ghost after just 2 years, and I’ve been scrambling from place to place trying to get a new one. The first one I found didn’t work at all. The second works, but setting it up so it would talk to my ISP [internet service provider] required an hour on the phone with the Internode support guy. He was incredibly patient and knowledgeable and we finally got there, but now I’m just knackered.
I’ll catch up with everyone tomorrow,

over here the router is usually the responsibility of the ISP, so as and when they cave, we get them replaced promptly. Not that I’ve had to do that myself, – yet, Dammit. I bet I just doomed myself!!!

The ISP will provide a router but it’s not free AND it takes “3 to 5 business days” to arrive. No way we would have survived for that long!

Yup. The internet is our lifeline so being without it makes us feel completely isolated. Just so glad it’s back!

This is why I have a ‘guy’ who does that stuff. When my router broke, I called my ‘guy’–Lyn (he’s in his 70’s) and he took care of it all while I told jokes.

lol – I wish I had a Lyn! Unfortunately, I’m the tech ‘guy’ in our family. Back in the day, my ex was the hardware guy and I was the software ‘guy’. lol These days I try to be the Mamma-Pappa. 😀

Hmm…I spend a lot of time trawling the web looking for info.? If all else fails, I pick up the whole desktop and lug it down to my techie builder. Btw, he’s the one who taught me how to ‘vacuum’ the inside of the computer. 🙂
