Oh now there’s the makings of a post. I knew Chinese New Year was in February but I had no idea Thai New Year could be this late. How does that happen?

In brief.. it’s in keeping with the Hindu and Buddhist calendars many countries in South Asia observe New Year at this time. although since the 1940s New Year is also celebrated on 1st Jan(we get 2 new years)…grin-x

Oh! Thank you for that, Carol. I guess like most Westerners, I tend to forget that a great many countries have a very different calendar to ours. Two celebrations, eh? lol Here in Australia, the Chinese New Year is gaining popularity with the rest of us as well. In years past I’ve loved the street festivals, and food, that accompanied /our/ second New Year. 🙂

Tomorrow here is Easter, so it’s already Easter where you are. I am frantically trying to corral brain cells to finish this book – and Easter means no obligations to do something else!

Easter has been lovely so far. Warm, balmy weather and sunshine. Of course, I’m never happy…now I want rain! Further north got all the floods; we got zip and things are drying out. Ah well.
