I have a confession to make, and an apology – I’ve never had a Youtube account before so I had no idea that so many of you had channels as well. I’ve just visited all my wonderful friends on Youtube, but I thought a general apology might be in order. I wasn’t ignoring you. Just sheer ignorance on my part.

I think two of my videos were taken down. Most of my research says it was probably copyright infringement, but I PAID for the music. I can’t figure out how to manage this. It seems most people who’ve had this happen have given up.

Meh…I had that happen to the Osaka Castle video too. The ‘jig’ that caused the so-called copyright infringement was part of the free music supplied by Plotagon, the app I used to create the animation. If you paid for music independently, maybe you could query the provider?

Someday when I have a couple of days to waste, I’ll reload them and send a note to the music provider to release the copyright claim. It just takes a lot of time. So discouraging.

At the moment my channel is only to get videos onto my blog, and to become familiar with the whole process, but I’m seriously thinking of downloading the free version of Shotcut, and building some basic editing skills.

Before you try Shotcut, have a look at Videopad’s Video Editor. Dawn told me about it and after looking at some of their tutorials, it looks as if it might be perfect for me. Looks as if you can record your narration separately, which is what I need for serious how-to’s. Anyway, we should compare notes on our respective editors once we’re up and running. 🙂

Hi Meeks, I must admit that I am a bit erratic with my YT posting. It all depends on whether I get some piece and quiet to record or not. I do usually visit when my friends post their YT videos to their blogs. I don’t often visit YT as a social media in its own right.

Gah…I can relate to that. In the past I’ve only gone onto YT if I was looking for something – a how-to or a particular song or something.
I’m mulling over putting a nice big YT button kind of thing on my sidebar. If we all did something similar we could have a subscribe-fest. 😀
