To all the people of Greater Melbourne – we’re almost half way through.
We can do this because we’ve done worse. Much worse.
Just like Black Saturday, no one else really understands. Only other Victorians do. That makes all of us one family. We look after our own. That is our ‘gold bloody standard’!
I love you.
Meeks

Are you having another surge of virus? I wasn’t aware of that, Andrea. Ugh. When will this end? Here in the US, people have given up waiting for the anti-vaccination people to change their minds. Life is completely back to normal. It feels surreal. Take good care of yourselves. Go, Melbourne.

Thanks, Diana. And yes, another outbreak. π¦ Better a lockdown than a runaway virus. Unlike you, our vaccination program is a sick joke so not even the most vulnerable are fully vaccinated. If we don’t catch the virus and stop it in its tracks we’ll be in huge trouble.

I’m sorry to hear that vaccinations aren’t getting done. So scary. Take care, my friend, and be safe.

Trust me, I’m staying put. I don’t mind so much as I’m writing consistently again, but I will miss the little freedoms I was starting to enjoy. Hopefully the lockdown will be short.

Using the time for writing is perfect. I hope your lockdown is short and that it does the trick. Crossing my fingers that vaccinations will get organized for you and your community. Hugs.

Hi Meeks, I am so sorry. We are apparently in a third wave here too and our cases are climbing. I don’t think we will be locked down here as our country just can’t afford it. It will end up being self isolation out of choice. I am also so tired of it all.

Oh Robbie. I am so sorry. Will you and your family be okay? How’s the vaccination program going?
Hang in there. -hugs-

Hi Meeks, the vaccine programme here is very slow. Only 800,000 people have been vaccinated out of 59 million. It is the mental health issues that are starting to rear their faces now, everyone is tired of being at home.

Ugh. That’s bad. Mind you, we’re not that much better. I think our vaccination program is maybe to 2%? It’s a joke. Try to stay positive. -hugs-

Yes go Melbournites – I feel 4 you all. Having had a few short lockdowns here in my home region of Auckland, New Zealand. Our last time was February when the Valentines Day Cluster formed…but for now we are back on Level 1 (Level 0 is when this all is done/dusted) I wonder if and when that will be…Gentle hugs from the across the ditch, Luv Catherine

Thanks Catherine. π We’re a wee bit shellshocked to be facing this again, and in such a crazy way. I mean…seriously? The guy gets covid in hotel quarantine, in another state, and comes home to melbourne not knowing he’s picked it up in the hotel. -facepalm-
Still, at least most of us just suck it up and get on with it.
Hope you guys remain covid free so we can the the bubble happening again soon!

Not to good this time around we have had some cases very close to where we live..too close for me and no sign of any semblance of a vacine programme at all…We are staying at home in a self imposed quarantine. I am not venturing out for anything..I do miss my trips to the market though…Have a great weekend π

Damn. Robbie said that South Africa is going through a third wave as well. Do you think the political unrest exacerbated the spread?
I’m really glad you’re in self-isolation. Please don’t take any chances. -hugs-

Yes, India is…horrible. There are over 9,000 Australians of Indian descent who are stuck over there and the damn govt is dragging its feet getting them home. Two have died of covid already. This nightmare is a long way from over. Take care. -hugs-

Yes. We’re almost half way through our second year of pandemic and there won’t be any real end until 70 – 80% of the entire world’s population is vaccinated. Otherwise we’ll just keep getting variants. Too depressing for words.

Yep, I got my stack of books from the library, my weekly supply from the shops and a few necessary art things ~ I am ready for this! (Pity the Federal Government couldn’t be as ready with non-hotel quarantine and a decent vaccination roll-out. Grrrr.)

I’m super angry, but only at the pinheads in Canberra. The Offspring is now fully vaccinated, the freezer is chockers, and I have lots of toilet paper. We’re good. π
