I am the kind of person who always has to know why things are the way they are so my interests range from genetics and biology to politics and what makes people tick.
For fun I play online mmorpgs, read, listen to a music, dance when I get the chance and landscape my rather large block.
Work is writing. When a story I am working on is going well I'm on cloud nine. On bad days I go out and dig big holes...

Exactly. I know we human anthropomorphise just about everything – I call my car Jim – but having such a strong reaction to a /robot/ doesn’t feel right somehow.
#4 Daughter came over and made my grandmother’s knock-you-on-your-ass New Year’s Eve cocktail. (Equal parts vodka, coffee liqueur, chocolate liqueur, and cream.) We took turns playing each other songs on Spotify and danced in our socks. Then I slept fitfully, because my late husband kept waking me up getting in and out of bed. Best. Night. Ever.
LOL! If I WANT a hangover, I can’t do better than gin. Gin makes me drunk and hung over AT THE SAME TIME. I told my daughter, if all there is to drink is gin, I might as well just hit myself over the head with the bottle.
-giggles- I wish I was a cartoonist because that conjures the funniest picture in my head! I rarely drink now because even my favourite Shiraz gives me a sinus headache if I have more than 1/2 a glass. I’m glad the vodka cocktail went down well. 🙂
How disturbing that a robot can dance better than i can!
Wishing you all good things for 2021, Meeks. and what a relief it will be to put 20bloody20 behind us (even if we are taking many of the same challenges with us into the new year).
Imagine the sky filled with bright lights, all flowing like silent music, like a river of colours … oh, the southern aurora, the northern lights — it will be winter before we see ours again, but the memory lingers, and the year changes, and we step forth to see what it will bring.
Happy New Year to you, you amazing science fiction writer!
That video is amazing – just a few years ago they could hardly get those robots to walk without falling over. The future’s coming, whether we like it or not! 🙂
Happy New Year to you too, Mr Repulse! Let’s just hope your timing is waaaay off with those huge autonomous fighters. Sorry, can’t remember what they’re called. ACA’s? Speaking of, how’s the next book coming along. Have you had a chance to do any writing since xmas?
All good here, ac, thank you. Book Four is on the way but still a long way to go. Am happy just to be safe and healthy. You stay that way too, please? 🙂 😉

Wow. That’s pretty amazing. The coordination is impressive. It won’t be long before they look like humans too.

Yes. 😦 I think I’d prefer them to stay obviously non-human though. I found myself reacting to the ‘dog’ as if it really were cute. That worries me.

You know, I had the same sense of this dancing robot, um, that it had a fun… personality. Yikes.

Some time travel here: Happy New Year to those in 2021 already from me in 2020. As you are in the future, what’s 2021 like? Better than 2020 I hope.

Now, when they become self-taught in the Cha-Cha, and the Tango, then we’ll have our dance card truly punched. 10cents a dance? How about $10B?

I know! I looked at some of those moves and blushed with shame. 😀
20bloody20 can’t end soon enough. I know it’s just a symbolic change but 2021 can’t get any worse so I’m confident it will at least be /better/. 🙂
Stay well. -hugs-

Stay well. -hugs-
