Yes, I admit it, I wear glasses, and yes they do fog up when I’m wearing a mask, so I thought this method looked promising. I haven’t tried it, yet, so I’d love some feedback:

I was going to read a different one of your blogs and then saw this goldmine. Me too! The foggy glasses are awful. Thanks for this!

That guy talks so fast he sounds like a chipmunk, with a deep voice! π … my glasses fog up too, and my solution was to just wear them a little bit further down my nose. Not ideal, but it works. π

Hmm…mine tend to slip down my nose anyway. I
might do some experimenting. And yes, he does talk fast, doesn’t he? lol

lol – I’m not sure who that is. Don’t watch tv that much. Well, except for today, I binge-watched a LOT of episodes of Friends.

So far I haven’t had any fogging! I beliveve its becouse I regularly wash my glasses in a soapy solution made with washing up liquid (not bar soap). You then rinse and leave to dry — with NO wiping. This was something my Optician told me to do years ago.
Mind you, the tissue trick from that video is something to do for when the lenses have got dirity…..

Oh! Thanks for that tip. I wash in dish washing detergent too but always dry straight away. I’ll give it a go. π

I’ve just thought— there are lots of choices regarding the coating that’s put on spectacule lenses. I imagine that may affect fogging too.

Good point. I know that mine has something to cut glare. I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Hi Michael! Lovely to hear from you and I’m pleased you found the tip helpful. Bette, one of my blogger friends, just let me know that the tissue trick really works. I don’t think any of us have been brave enough to try the bandaid trick. π
Stay well!

I don’t wear glasses much, but those disposable paper (and probably plastic too) masks creep up so the top edge gets into my eyes. Most uncomfortable, and of course it means I fiddle with it. I’ve found it helps to move the metal strip to the end of my nose and pinch it firmly.
I really wish I was better at sewing and could make my own masks, but when the supply of disposables runs out I’ll likely buy some ready made reusables. I’m not friends with the sewing machine.

Yeah, that metal thingie has to be pinched tight to stop the creep. I go out so rarely our disposables are likely to last a while yet. After that, I may buy some reusables too. I have a sewing machine but threading the darn thing? -makes disgusted noise-

The 2 disposables Ive been wearing are holding up well. My big problem with the sewing machine is getting the tension right.

Yeah, that tension can be a real pain. I had that problem a few years back. Took the machine in to the shop and they said the problem was the needle. Apparently there are different types of needles for different types of fabric. If you have different, um…points? perhaps you could try one and see.

Good point! (Heh, heh.) I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m feeling tense over tension.

Tape your mask to your face!?! Lol
Well, I’ll bet it works. The tissue paper solution probably works too. I’ll try that one.
I wear glasses too, Andrea, and it’s totally annoying that they fog up. But like you, I don’t go out much, so I can put up with the fog for short periods of time. π

lol – I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to bandaids so I suspect I’d probably go for the tissue option too. π

Thanks for the tips, I’m in the Glasses Team too, and I’ll definately try that out. Now that it is mandatory to wear masks pretty much everywhere in MontrΓ©al, the fogging is a real issue, when I have to leave the house.

High Five, Cyranny! I think the problem will get worse once the weather becomes colder again. We’re in winter atm and the fog is heavy. Probably doesn’t help that I have large frames and they slip down a lot. Good luck. π

Bandaids….hmmm….might give it a go, because the fogging annoys me! The tissue at the nose sort of works. The best thing I have found is to twist the loops that go around the ears, because it creates vents at the sides of the mask that allows the air to escape. It is probably not the safest, as you need a good seal. It does allow me to walk and see at the same time.

Yeah, I have the same problem. Luckily I don’t go out much – probably no more than once a month – so I’ll try the bandaid solution next time.
