At some point during the weekend, I suddenly realised that if I published the Innerscape Omnibus to Amazon first, people without Kindles wouldn’t be able to download it at all, for three months. -sigh- I know, I’m fast like that. So this is the revised plan:
- I publish the Omnibus as a free PDF first,
- Then I publish the epub for free with non Amazon distributors, for 2 weeks?
- Then I unpublish both the PDF and the epub so I can offer the Omnibus on Amazon for free.
-rolls eyes-
So here’s where I need some help. I’ve created the PDF, I’ve uploaded it to sync.com, and I have a link for downloading it from sync.com, but I’d kill for some volunteers to test the process. According to sync.com, you don’t need to register or do anything except click on the link and then ‘download’, but the file is over 4 MG, and I’ve grown distrustful in my old age.
So, how about it? Pretty please with sprinkles? π
If you would like to test the process out for me, click the following link and …follow instructions!
https://ln2.sync.com/dl/49da33430/dpgjq745-ptjpuwt9-wh5i63er-8cgq8urq
And please let me know if I need to do anything to make the process easier. Oh! And remember, you’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to actually read the PDF version of the books.
Thank you in advance!

Meeks, the two things are not mutually exclusive. π … where do you think generosity comes from? π

Sorry – I don’t think it would work for my kobo – pdf books are usually a PITA, coz the font can’t be adjusted normally – the page has to be zoomed, but the lines don’t re-wrap to take account of it. I am happy to have a go at downloading it to the pc, then convert it via adobe digital editions, and upload to the kobo if you think that would be useful for you though. x

No! It’s okay, Dawn. I’ve got the epub side in progress. That’ll be uploaded to Kobo and some other places. But once it’s there, I would really appreciate it if you could check it on your device as I only have Kindles. -hugs-

People without Kindles (like me) can read Kindle books with the Kindle Reader app, which we can download to most devices. I use my Samsung tablet. On the other hand, good for you for going through channels other than Amazon. (Monopoly is never good). Unfortunately, the only way to make a book free on Amazon is to go exclusive and use the 5 free days they offer. Otherwise, you have to hope they price match, which they don’t seem to do routinely.
I’ll try the download now and let you know if I have problems. TIA!

My books have been ‘wide’ for quite a while now so I forgot what ‘exclusive’ actually means. This way I hope to be able to reach as many readers as possible. Not on a par with saving lives, but I need to feel that I’m doing something, even if it’s miniscule.
