Yes! I also love how, with just a slight scrunch of the eye, we stop seeing the material and get the big picture instead. It’s almost like one of those visual puzzle where you look at an image one way and it’s a vase. Look at it another way and it’s an old woman with a hooked nose.

They’re remarkable! I glanced at the picture and was going to flick past, and it was only once I read what they were I went back to look properly. I suppose that shows how we (I?) often don’t really look at things.

It’s odd, isn’t it? I know the brain ‘fills in the gaps’ based on our expectations so maybe this is something like that.

I’m sure it is – like recognising a word when we read from the first and last letters and the approximate length.
