I’ve had a brilliant day and just wanted to share. According to StoryBox, I ended the day up by 1193 words, but as deleted words are subtracted from the running total, I figure I’m probably closer to 1500 new words. Good words. Action words. lol
I recognized some time ago that Kaati was more of an ‘action’ character than the Blue so it behooved me to let it do warrior-type stuff, or at least, action-hero type stuff. And I have. Such fun. ๐
In case you’re wondering, this is my all-time action hero:
cheers

Woot!!! keep those words coming! ๐ … my favourite Bruce Lee story – he was filming in Hong Kong harbour, and was on the cusp of superstardom and stresses to the max, so he takes a junk out into the harbour for some alone time but loses his cool, (just a bit because, Bruce Lee!) and starts punching the water, saying, “I MUST relax, I MUST relax”. It didn’t take him long to cotton to the ironic paradox, and he did indeed, relax. ๐

I’m not an action movie fan, but I am impressed by your action of over 1000 words. (I’m also impressed by my neat segue!)

lmao – so am I! I know I shouldn’t be surprised as you’re a blogger, but so many of my artistic friends also have a way with words. ๐

Bruce Lee > Chuck Norris! First (and last) time I ever saw Chuck Norris in a movie, Bruce Lee wiped the Colosseum with him. lol

Yes! High Five, Marian. ๐ I was a dewy 21 one year when I first saw Enter the Dragon and I’ve always wondered how they talked Chuck Norris into playing the ‘loser’. I’ve never been a fan but I know he was huge there for a while.

I think he was one of Bruce’s students at the time wasn’t he?

There’s a lot on the net about that but I just read an interview with him [Chuck Norris] and according to him, they sparred a lot as equals but he already knew martial arts before they met.
I’m assuming it’s true and ‘real’. See what you think:

Aaaah! Yes! Enter the Dragon launched his career I believe. So sad Bruce Lee died so soon after.

I drew a total blank there for a moment then I realised! He did train Bruce Lee, in Wing Chun, but Bruce Lee them went on to develop Jeet Kune Do, which is what you see him using in his films. Sorry, fan girl here. I actually bought the hardcover of his teaching manual. I use it to work out ideas of what’s possible in fighting. ๐

I trained in it for a few years (Wing Chun academy in Melbourne) – it’s a small world!
Bruce had about 20 ‘disciplines’ of the art mastered. I had a wall poster (which someone stole), but I didn’t know there was a hardcover book! I’ll have to look around, see what I can find …

Damn! My friends are forever surprising me. I have a real world friend who did Wing Chun for a few years as well. All I can boast is 3 months learning how unsuited I was to karate. ๐ฆ
The book is called Bruce Lee’s Fighting Method, The complete edition, 2nd printing 2010 by Black Belt publications.
I’ve updated the post with a pic of what the book contains. It really is brilliant for step-by-step instructions with pics!

I can well understand your choice of action hero. I’ve only seen one of his films but he impressed me. I like Jackie Chan too though his seem to be more light comedy films that I’ve seen.
