December 5, 2018 Update….I am officially an idiot. I was so excited to have Miira permafree on Amazon, I totally forgot to include the link for the book. Can I plead old age as an excuse?
A huge thank you to Cage Dunn for giving me a gentle nudge in the right direction. As Bluebottle would say: ‘I feel a proper fool’. 😦
Okay, here are the urls for Miira I should have included in the post, all of them:
Amazon
Kobo
https://www.kobo.com/au/en/ebook/miira
Angus & Robertson [au]
https://www.angusrobertson.com.au/ebooks/miira-acflory/p/9780648162728
Now I can relax. -hugs to all-

I’m so excited, I don’t know what to do with myself. I finally got up the courage to ask Amazon to make Miira [book 1 of Innerscape] permafree to match B&N, Kobo et al,… and it’s happening!
So far, I’ve checked amazon.com and amazon.com.au, and the ebook is $0.00 on both! Sadly, amazon.co.uk hasn’t gone to permafree yet, but I’m sure it’s on the way. This has literally just happened, or at least I’ve only just noticed. If anyone sees Miira going permafree somewhere else, please let me know.
It’s odd, this feels like an early Christmas present. At least now I have the hope that more people will give Innerscape a try. And to celebrate, we’re getting pizza tonight.
-thinks- I might just indulge in some Cabernet Sauvignon as well. 🙂
cheers

Yes, it’s for my romances and more adult books. Traci Kenworth is for my YA.

Aaaah! Got it. Makes sense to separate them but how on earth do you find the time, and energy, to look after both??

I haven’t actually done posts for Loleta Abi yet other than reblogs. I plan to start them in the new year. I ran two blogs for a long time, but at that time the other blog had a different name. This name clicked for me since Loleta is my middle name. It just seems right for what I plan to do with it.

Lovely name. 🙂 I still couldn’t run 2 blogs at once. My poor Medium blog hasn’t been touched since I decided to stay with WordPress ages ago. Good luck!

I tend to post two times a week on Traci Kenworth. I might actually only do that once on Loleta Abi.

I guess three posts isn’t too bad, but some weeks I really struggle to post anything at all. Of course other weeks I may post twice a day.
Anyway, best of luck with the new site. 🙂

I struggle with what to say in the posts all the time! I try and find something that sparks an idea. It’s going to be a challenge to do two but I’ve done it before and with more posts. I’m going to be reblogging still, cause that helps traffic. I wish I could get more responses though on my own posts. Only a few people seem to read them.

I’m not sure what other people do, but I gave myself permission /not/ to post if I wasn’t passionate about the topic. This way when I do post, it’s because I’m loving it. lol From what I’ve read, that’s not the professional way of doing a blog but at least I never burn out!

Have you thought about putting the embed link into the picture?
On the Amazon page for the book, on the far right, above the ‘read on any device’ icon, there’s a word – embed – click on that and follow the instructions to copy the url onto the picture so the reader gets the preview right here (I think it’s also auto to the local Amazon site, but don’t quote me on that!).

Just updated the post and I feel about the size of an ant. How could I forget the url? I am getting old. Thanks so much for pointing it out. Even this morning while posting the urls on Twitter, my brain just did not make the connection. -sigh-

I often have to go back – usually after a thorough kick in the pants. Hmm, maybe I should write the process down … nah, takes away from writing time!

The difference in price isn’t much but I think it’s the psychological impact. Says she with fingers crossed. 😀

You really should talk to your bookshops. I have 2 sellers that are happy to stock the book without charging commission – at least initially. I think you’d do very well in you library/ies, as well.
What’s to lose? You should continue the journey, I reckon.

Here’s the thing, though, A. All you have to do is have a chat about books and local authors and the store’s attitudes to local authors and how they think they should be supported. This is basic research that you do in other areas in a heartbeat.
Did I tell you that a couple of outlets have told me they’ll sell the book without charging a commission until I start to move quite a few, and then maybe only a token amount.
A loyt of these folk sem to really like having local authors in their store – it’s like a plus on their bookseller CV. Plus there are book awards for Indie publishers that only bookstores can nominate to. That could be you, ya know.

Yes indeed, and I’ve just been informed I’ve had my first pre-order for the book. (Pre-order was an error I’m trying to correct) .
Wonderful though. Quite wonderful.

I hope that if people read the first book, and like it, they’ll be more likely to read the rest of the trilogy too. 🙂

Well done. I just checked Amazon UK and no change yet but, it’s funny, there’s a book there called Miira (Japanese edition) which is free so I hope there’s not been a mistake. Good luck with this Andrea.

Congrats! I hope the perma-freedom works out for you. I read somewhere recently that it’s risky actually to ask Amazon to make a book perma-free. The recommended way was to use the “Tell us about a lower price” thing on the book’s page, and to ask others to do that too. But obviously the Zon didn’t strike you dead when you just asked.

I actually did ask on Twitter first so perhaps by the time I asked Amazon, someone else had asked as well. Whatever the reason, I’m over the moon about it. Getting readers to take a chance on an unknown is so bloomin’ hard. This may make it a bit easier. I hope. Fingers crossed. 🙂
