I’ve been working in Corel all morning and decided to take a break by doing a jigsaw puzzle [on jigsawplanet.com]. The pic above is the the finished puzzle.
That glorious, circular stair captivated me so much, I went looking for more information. The photo was taken by a New York photographer/travel writer by the name of Vivienne Gucwa. Click the link to see her website – NY Through the Lens. It’s well worth a visit. I definitely enjoyed it. ๐
As for the actual staircase, it’s somewhere in the Museum of Gustav Moreau in Paris. This is a view down through the spiral:
Makes me want to hop on a plane and go see it for myself. -sigh-
And here’s the link to the Flickr accountย on which I found the pic.
Okay, back to work. I hope you’re all having a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
cheers
Meeks

Spiral cases are such fun to look at. My aunt and uncle put one in at their house to lead to the loft, but it was a rather tight spiral and hard to get up and down even for nimble folks. Luggage? Nope.

At first, I thought this was a picture of your home. I haven’t done a puzzle in years but I always felt that they are so therapeutic. Congrats on finishing.

Hi Martie! I would /love/ a staircase like this one, but sadly no. And I can’t really take much credit for finishing the jigsaw either. When you do online jigsaw puzzles, you get the choice of how many pieces to play with. For the staircase I chose just 24 pieces so….but it was fun, and I agree about them being therapeutic. There’s something about that hand-eye co-ordination that stills the ‘noise’ of the everyday and allows me to just relax. ๐

Do you play online, or prefer a box of bits? I used to do real ones, but time and space were limited. Online, I can walk away and finish another time if I need to…

Me too! The dining room table was a lost cause for a while. Now I just hop online and play for as long as I want. No fuss, no mess. ๐

Woo Hoo! I followed the link to marvelous photos of my home town. Just in case you’ve never hear of it, Here’s a link to the Horta Museum in Brussels. A Dutch friend insisted that I go there when I was in Belgium. The staircase alone is a heart throb. https://www.google.com/search?q=horta+museum&client=firefox-b-1&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj_oszAjtDdAhVhh-AKHcGZBGQQsAR6BAgDEAE&biw=1366&bih=584#imgrc=0FrOM_nRl7RxDM: Photos here do not do the place justice.
