I blame Esme-‘pon-Cloud for this post. She sent me a link to the most amazing photos. If you like wandering through ruins, trying to imagine what they might have looked like, you will love these pics!

I particularly love the ones where the buildings have lost their roofs and nature has marched straight in. It feels so right.
Click the photo above to be taken to the entire set. Be warned though, once you start, it’ll be very hard to stop. :p
Happy Sunday!

About acflory
I am the kind of person who always has to know why things are the way they are so my interests range from genetics and biology to politics and what makes people tick.
For fun I play online mmorpgs, read, listen to a music, dance when I get the chance and landscape my rather large block.
Work is writing. When a story I am working on is going well I'm on cloud nine. On bad days I go out and dig big holes...

As sad as it is to see such deterioration, especially of once magnificent places, deterioration and decay to make interesting pictures.

Yes! It’s a different kind of beauty but compelling nonetheless.

These are great! I used to save such pics from National Geographic to use as writing prompts when I was in the classroom. Decaying buildings certainly appeal to the imagination on many levels.

Such stories there. My first thought was why, why were these abandoned and left this way!

I know, it doesn’t make sense, and yet there it is. Stories in every room if we could just find them.

Yes they do. It’s like an optical illusion as you know all the furnishings must be inches deep in dust.
There was one pic of a walk in pantry, or perhaps a kitchen, and it was full of stuff. I so wanted to wipe away the cobwebs to see what kind of food they used to eat…
