Feast your eyes on some of the most beautiful, and terrifying, photos of storms I have ever seen. For my money, the one with the windmill is the most disturbing.

Beautiful … and yet, frightening. So much beauty in nature … and it makes us realize just how small and powerless, in the grand scheme of things, we really are! Love this pic, though!

I’ve lived through just enough hurricanes to know when to run away instead of toward the storm. That doesn’t diminish the power of the photography. I’ll just say—for my fellow chickens—that post storm skies, beaches, parks, even city streets have a magic that is beautiful and usually much safer.

Yes, the windmill one is weird. I’ve had nightmares about skies like that!

I think they show how very insignificant humans are in the greater scheme of things. Ants who think they’re giants.

Scary, though I think the one with a few windmills disturbs me the most. Not sure I fancy being clobbered by any of the lightning either.

Meeka I have never been sure if it is bravery or foolishness that makes one rush into the worst that weather can throw at us. I do have to admit the photos and the science these people gain from doing it is a gift. I think the pictures are a show of the power of nature. Hugs

Totally agree, Scottie. The Offspring and I watched Twister for the umpteenth time not long ago and…it was still insane and scary! These guys are nuts. 🙂
