I’ve been enjoying the adventures of Leine Basso for a couple of years now, but it was not until I listened to D.V.’s interview this morning that I realised Leine is supposed to be pronounced as ‘Lane’. In my head I always heard Leine as ‘Laney’. Well, Laney no more! But I still really like the character. π

Yeah, that happens a lot. In fact, I just got an email yesterday from a reader who asked me how to pronounce her name π One of my critique partners still prefers to call her Laney, so you’re not alone, Meeks!
And thank you for sharing the interview!

Thanks for sharing the interview! I was in the same boat with the name and kept fumbling around with different possible pronunciations. I finally found the answer by listening to one of the audiobook samples.

Oh that was clever. I never thought of doing that. I’ll remember that trick next time I’m stuck with an odd sounding name. π Oh and welcome to the blog!
