My Dad was a mechanical engineer, and while I did not inherit any of his math ability, I get the spatial beauty of things that work because physics makes it so. I think even Dad would have loved furniture that slots together with just one key part to hold everything securely in place. I know I do. 🙂
I am the kind of person who always has to know why things are the way they are so my interests range from genetics and biology to politics and what makes people tick.
For fun I play online mmorpgs, read, listen to a music, dance when I get the chance and landscape my rather large block.
Work is writing. When a story I am working on is going well I'm on cloud nine. On bad days I go out and dig big holes...

Just had a look and the desk looks like fun. Could I suggest some kind of ‘gallery’ on your site though? I wanted to see what the desk looked like when it was finished – i.e. put together completely.
It worked just fine, EllaD and thank you! I think the one liked the best of all were the wall shelves? drawers that could swap places, but a close second was the table that folded up into a briefcase!
lmao – ooooooh! In my Dad’s day that was called a drafting table. 😀 And here I was imagining Royal Doulton tea cups and cucumber sandwiches…cut in triangles. 😉

We saw something on FB the other day about designs by clever people… Amazing … Hats-off to Engineers 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/mrtintumon/videos/596633517027666/?pnref=story.
I can’t get a proper link but if it doesn’t work Google “hats off to engineers youtube” 🙂

So you can say I’m an old person from the days of drawing tables? No. Let’s just say there are rulers on strings, like this: http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/drawing-table-vector-03-17080136.jpg

It still is, but I use mine for drawing in general. If you want to do a perspective drawing of a room, the table helps tremendously 🙂

My daughter is the artistic one in the family. Maybe I should get her one.
