I will never forget the first time I watched Jurassic Park at the movies. Huge screen and sound so loud you could feel it in your bones. And then them…
How on earth? Were those dinosaurs real somehow? But of course they couldn’t be real…only, they look real?
That moment happened well over twenty years ago now but I still remember it as if it happened yesterday, because it made such a lasting impression on me.
Sadly, I don’t think the latest offering in the Jurassic Park franchise is going to be anything but ho hum. At least, that was the impression I received from the trailer. Watch it and tell me what you think. Am I being too harsh?

I’ve never watched a Jurassic movie but I went on the ride at Universal Studios in LA… it was awesome!

How often is the 3rd, 4th, 5th… installment in a franchise even close to the original?

lol – nevah? I just can’t work out why Spielberg would want to buy in on the tail end of a story that’s already been done to death.

Would you believe that I have never seen the original? Don’t see the new one if you feel that it will leave you pining for the old version.

At the time I think I felt too mature to go and see such a movie. Haha! I do remember seeing the first Star Wars movie. As soon as it finished I wanted to sit through it again.

Me too! It was -cough- lightyears -cough- ahead of everything else in terms of special effects. And then there was Harrison Ford… π

Having seen the first one I know these are not my type of films being in the same yawn category as the disaster movies like Towering Inferno et al. The music in the trailer was good and brought the tension to a point but the tension itself didn’t have me wanting to check under the bed.. But who knows what a great director can pull out of the hat?

Ever since Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m a Chris Pratt fan, so I’m happy to give it a go. We’ll see how well it delivers. Might not be the same without Jeff Goldblum. π
