A primordial amphibian?

I was reading Candy Korman’s post on MONSTER words when I stumbled across her ‘frankenfish’. It’s actually called a Northern Snakehead, and is capable of surviving on land for up to four days if it stays wet.

The youtube video clip shows one walking? slithering? around on grass.

Apparently this ability to walk around on land has allowed the Snakehead to become invasive when taken out of its natural habitat.

I think I may be adding these beasties to my Vokhtan Bestiary at some point. Maybe as the missing link between pakti and to’pak. Hmm…
