After the fiasco with ‘Dreamer’ I made sure this second offering worked.
I was tossing up between the Logical Song and this one. I love both, but I think I love the contradictions in the Long Way Home just a little more. The melody is so cheerful and yet, when you listen to the lyrics there is something so very wistful about them.
Watching Roger Hodgson singing The Long Way Home in his 50′s[?], the lyrics seem age appropriate. But then you remember they were written when he was a very young man. What can I say? Genius.
